A structural adjustment package (SAPs) is a set of economic reforms that a country must adhere to in order to secure a loan from the International Monetary Fund and/or the World Bank. They include: Cutting public sector employment and the removal of subsidies on things like fuel.
A sovereign default is the failure or refusal of the government of a sovereign state to pay back its debt in full when due.
